Frequently Asked Questions

Before you buy

Learn how eSim works and whether it’s the right fit for your device and trip.

  • An eSIM, or embedded SIM, is a digital version of a SIM card built directly into your device. With eSIMWander, you can get connected without swapping out physical cards—ideal for staying online while traveling.

  • Most modern smartphones support eSIM, including iPhones (XR and newer), Google Pixels, and many Samsung Galaxy models. You can confirm compatibility in your phone’s settings by checking our “How it works” page.

  • Right after you place your order, we’ll send your eSIM details and QR code to your email—usually within a few minutes.

  • Yes. Most devices let you use both a physical SIM and an eSIM simultaneously. This means you can keep your regular number for calls and use eSim card for data.

  • Yes. You can share your connection with other devices by enabling the personal hotspot feature on your phone. Be sure to check your phone’s settings for hotspot setup.

  • Our eSIMs are for data use only. You won’t get a local number, but you can use apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, or Zoom to call or message over data.

  • We partner with top carriers China. Your device will automatically connect to the strongest available network.

  • Please note that our eSIM service does not support TikTok. Access to the app may be restricted due to network limitations.

Installing & Using your eSim

All you need to know to get connected quickly and easily while abroad.

  • After receiving your QR code:

    1. Open your phone settings.

    2. Go to “Cellular” (iOS) or “SIM manager” (Android).

    3. Select “Add eSIM” or “Add mobile plan.”

    4. Scan the QR code while connected to Wi-Fi.

Once installed, name the plan for easy reference. It will only activate when you're in the destination country and have enabled roaming.

  • Most modern smartphones support eSIM, including iPhones (XR and newer), Google Pixels, and many Samsung Galaxy models. You can confirm compatibility in your phone’s settings by checking our “How it works” page.

  • We recommend installing it before you leave for your trip, while you still have internet access. That way, you’re ready to go as soon as you land.

  • Yes. Once you’re at your destination, enable data roaming for the eSIM plan to connect to local networks.

  • Your plan begins when your eSIM connects to a supported local network.

  • You can monitor data usage in your device’s settings. Most phones display data consumption by mobile plan.

  • When your plan’s data or time limit is used up, the connection will stop. You can simply purchase another eSIM plan to stay connected.

  • In rare cases, local carriers may apply temporary speed limits to ensure fair usage. These are usually short-term and speeds remain fast enough for video streaming and browsing.

  • Yes—but only once. You can transfer the eSIM from your current phone to a new one during your trip. After the second installation, it cannot be reused on the original device.

  • You can delete it, but it’s not required. Once your plan ends, the eSIM becomes inactive and won’t affect your phone’s performance.
